11
Always safe to start on the line! 11 CA
12
More reliable line following? Use two light sensors! 12 Solution is available on www.robofest.net, tech resource/ workshop 1 / slide 23www.robofest.net
13
How to make it go smoother? (without using additional light sensor) 13
14
Lets test on the test course 14
15
Registered spectators will be given a ballot (go to: www.lorenzoculturalcenter.com and click on schedule to register online)www.lorenzoculturalcenter.com Teams will introduce Robotic floats During the 2 nd Official Parade: – Floats violating the traffic law will be removed – People will select best float from only remaining robots RoboParade Peoples Choice Award 15
16
Reliable line following is important – check light values Do not hit the robot in front – check sonar sensor value Test, test, and test!!! First thing for Peoples Choice Award 16
17
Check the sonar sesnor range – Inch – cm Cover the back of the robot with paper for the robot behind you Meet the robot team in front of you: ask them to cover the back May need to adjust your sonar sensor location based on the robot in front of you Why not detecting the front object, sometimes? 17
18
Watch Previous RoboParade Videos – http://www.robofest.net/roboParade.htm See Pictures – http://www.robofest.net/roboParade.htm Think something Wow in order to win the Peoples Choice Award Ideas for floats 18
19
Decorations: You may use additional independent batteries for lighting You may put anything on your float Musical Instruments – Castanets – Triangles – Tambourines – Drums –…–… Movements on the float: use additional motors Ideas for floats 19
20
How to operate additional motors while following the line? 20
21
Move the mouse on the beam Press shift, the you will see a spool Drag and connect (click or double click) How to connect a parallel sequence beam? 21
22
Wireless interaction between the robot and team players is strongly encouraged Sound sensor: claps, knocks Light sensor: flashlight Sonar sensor: hand waves Interaction with your robot 22
23
Difficult to follow the line, if too long and too heavy In addition, it will make it difficult for the robot behind you to detect you Comments on Trailers 23
24
Make a train with many smaller trailers, if you want to build a long float You may use strings to connect trailers for flexibility Trailer II 24
25
Trailer III – Heavy Object 25
26
Robot speed requirements: 4cm/sec ~ 18cm/sec (not too slow, not too fast) You cannot join the official parade unless your robot pass the test on: – Friday, November 19, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Saturday, November 20, 10 am – Noon (for this slot, teams must make an appointment) If you pass the test, you will be given an official flag Remember 26
27
A team can enter only one robot float If you have more than one float, then you must enter another team All family members must be registered through Lorenzo Cultural Center to enter the event hall. Online registration available at www.lorenzoculturalcenter.com www.lorenzoculturalcenter.com Note to Coaches 27
