4. Spring Hill Middle School

5. At the beginning of this school year we joined the International Internet project «People To People International». These projects include the exchange of personal information and experience.

6. Spring Hill Middle School, Wagram, North Carolina, USA We found pen pals in Spring Hill Middle School, Wagram, North Carolina, USA.

7. Our class exchanged letters with the group of 28 students of 12-13 years.

8. As a result, we have received and sent back 96 letters. We did all work under the supervision of our English teaches Alla Evgenyevna and Tatyana Ivanovna, and American teacher Christine Belzic helped our partners from Wargan.

10. In January we started doing group projects. Our partners sent us 8 projects called «A Day In My Life».

13. Our partners were the students from Spring Hill Middle School. They live in small towns of Wargam and Laurinburg. Every school morning they wake up at 6 o’clock to catch a school bus.

14. School starts at 8.00 am and ends at 3.15 pm. They have 5 classes a day. The first class is both Math and Science. The second class is both Social Studies and Communication Skills.

16. In Social Studies the students study the history, geography, government, etc. of the continents of Asia, Africa, and Australia. Right now the students are studying countries of Africa. Communication Skills includes English, writing, language arts, reading, and speaking skills.

17. They have 3 grade levels: 6-th, 7-th, 8-th. Each grade level has three teams and each team has two or three teachers. The A.I.G. teams are for Academically Intellectually gifted students. The A.I.G. team for our pen pals is the Artemis team.

18. 100-93 = A76-70 = D 92-85 = Bbelow 70 = F 84-77 = C The grading system at Spring Hill Middle School isn’t very complicated. The grades are A(100-93%), B(92-85%), C(76-70%), F( anything below 70% is an F)

19. At school they do not wear uniforms, but they do have a dress code.

20. After school students have sports practice and homework. They have different hobbies, and play different sports. All have an interest in music, enjoy rock n roll, play guitar.

21. They go to sleep at 10 o’clock.
