I like this music/ certain computer games/ some activities eg shopping describe your personality? I am funny/ shy/ generous/ loyal. just say the obvious? I am english / a boy/ girl Which of these things could change over time? Which of them make you really you? Who are you ? If you walked into a chat-room full of strangers, and had to identify yourself, what would you say? 1.Explain what aspects of you will change over time, and which would not. 2.Do you think you have a “core” that makes you you? **Is there anything you could say about yourself that will never change? What?

2 To describe what makes you you To explain what it means to be in the image of God To introduce the idea of “theology of the body” Lots of things affect who we are. -Choose 3 that most affect who you are/ become -Choose 3 that do not really affect who you are/ become 1.Explain something that does affect who you are. 2.Explain something that does not affect you very much. **Are there any influences you wish you could be more free from? 3 There is one other important thing that decides what we are like… We are made in the Image of God. This can never change. -Free will: -Rational: -Moral: -Self-conscious. -Spiritual nature. -Love unselfishly we can choose to act otherwise. we act based on reasons, not instinct. able to know and choose between good and evil We can reflect on our life and on who we are able to know and love God & be known & loved by Him. 1.Match up the 5 ways we are made in the image of God, on the table. 2.How does being in the “image of God” mean that we have a “core” that never changes? **Would you lose free will if someone made you do something? Care for others for their benefit, not our own

4 Which of these aspects of our character come from the “image of God” part of our nature ? Write down the numbers. 1.Eating and drinking 2.Making a free decision 3.Choosing not to fight when angry 4.Reflecting on what you did yesterday 5.Feeling pain 6.Being attracted to someone 7.Giving up time and effort to help a stranger 8.Wanting to worship God

5 We are made in the image of God. God’s love is free, good, rational, spiritual. So we can love like that... **This unit is about how we can love “in the image of God”. ** Write a poem.. “God’s love is…” Think of at least 7 ways to describe God’s love. End your poem with a thought that perhaps we can love like this as well.
