What is Inclusive Fitness? The fitness industry providing high quality, accessible products and services Raised awareness and increased participation levels of physical activity amongst disabled people EFDS have secured core funding from the Department of Health to influence and deliver inclusive fitness

The Model of Inclusive Fitness is I The IFI model has five key areas: – Accessible facilities (physical and operational policies) – Inclusive fitness equipment – Staff training (disability equality and adapted physical activity) – Inclusive marketing and outreach strategies – Wider agenda; sport

Workforce Development Training for Leisure facility staff, Fitness instructors and Management Equipment suppliers R&D associates, international influence Leisure facilities Existing IFI facilities, Sport England sites, Paralympic venue sites, private and public sector Disabled people Individuals, extended networks, medical and activity networks, sport sector

Creating Accessible Facilities Over 380 IFI Mark accredited gyms 3 levels of accreditation; – Provisional, Registered & Excellent IFI Mark awarded after assessment visit against established Standards – Reviewed and updated in 2010 to reflect legislative changes and new best practice (next review in 2014) – Audit customer journey, physical building and operational policies – New areas; (ASA/British Swimming) – Recently appointed Direct Enquiries Ltd as new assessment providers

Direct Enquiries conduct the IFI Mark process. Our tools and methodologies have enabled us to cut the cost of accreditation to centres, while actually increasing the services received for the fee. The IFI Mark Process Services received: Onsite Accreditation Assessment FM Reporting Resolve Helpdesk Marketing

All centres will receive an onsite accreditation assessment. Our highly trained auditors will assess the site while keeping any disruption to a minimum. FM Reporting shows centres the results of their assessment. This then allows you to track areas for improvement and maintain areas of excellence. You also have access to our Resolve helpdesk which enables centres to rectify issues in order to ensure the best possible accreditation.
