3 INITIATIVE OVERVIEW - Rationale Technology can be used in schools to engage at-risk students and improve Alberta’s high school completion rates. Ongoing research into best practices in classroom technology implementation. The results of this research will be shared with all jurisdictions. Stakeholder Technology Branch

13 Project Planning A well-planned project is more likely to succeed. A good project plan: Features a Project Charter Defines goals Defines roles Has a communication plan Has a clear action plan Establishes timelines and deadlines

14 A project charter defines: the scope the objectives the overall approach to the work roles of team members A template has been included in your folders Essential Components Project Charter

15 Essential Components Define Goals What is your vision? What are your goals? Are you ready? Are the essential conditions in place to achieve your goals?

16 Essential Components Roles and Responsibilities Project Manager – Alberta Education Provide supports to participants Track projects Collect and summarize reports/deliverables Share information and research among project participants Plan events Facilitate sharing of projects/ideas/best practices.
