Vocabulary Prosthetic: denoting an artificial body part, such as a limb, a heart, or a breast implant. Stationary: not moving or not intended to be moved. Neural prosthetics: are a series of devices that can substitute a motor, sensory or cognitive modality that might have been damaged as a result of an injury or a disease. Arduino: A Minnie computer Force Sensor: as a transducer that converts an input mechanical force into an electrical output signal. Breadboard: a board for making an experimental model of an electric circuit. Resistor: a device having a designed resistance to the passage of an electric current. Neuron: a specialized, impulse-conducting cell that is the functional unit of the nervous system, consisting of the cell body and its processes, the axon and dendrites. Spikerbox: spikerbox picked up the neural spikes created when different stimuli were applied to the cockroach leg (touching it, blowing on it, etc) Electrode: a conductor through which electricity enters or leaves an object, substance, or region.

Original version 1963 –Touch robotics started developing neuro prosthetics in 2007 the company started developing the prosthetic wrist. Prosthetic arm –Was first available for people who were in the army for serious loss of limb because of proportional issues between the material and the joint. People today –Rehabilitation centers for people with a loss of limb. The people at the centers do things, one of things is they help people who just got the prosthetic and put through exercises. Or they can help the person understand about prosthetic if you want to get one.

First appearance? Research – University of California mark the first appearance of the expression brain–computer interface in scientific literature. – Research on BCIs began in the 1970s at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) under a grant from the National Science Foundation

First appearance? Neural prosthetic arms were being tested as early as 2004-2006 – Were being tested on monkeys to validate neural control of the arm’s functions. There was no main inventor; – It was a collective effort of all scientists on this specific topic of neural prosthetic wrist/arm. – To the functions the arm, maintenance, and technological development were a collective effort of information from different scientists.

What is the Future of this prosthetic? -Advances -The Advances that could be made in the Arm based on the wrist functions in the coming future could be Material, Strength and direct reaction when compared to the one that is currently in possession as of this date. Advanced controls could be a possibility in the future increasing the functionality and reaction time of the limb.

What is the Future of this prosthetic? -Problems -The problem that could come out of these improvements to the arm would be the possibility of Monopolization of these kinds of improvements by companies in order to assure that profit is made out of these Neuro- Prosthetic Limbs.
