4 Cook Islands DRM Progress 2010 - 12 Emergency Management Cook Islands (EMCI) and Climate Change –Climate Change for Disaster Reduction merger with EMCI under the Prime Minister Office. –A Joint National Action Plan for Disaster Response Management & Climate Change. –Ongoing Development of a Joint National Policy & Legislation for Disaster Management & Climate Change Disaster Emergency Trust fund appropriation by Cabinet approved in May 2011 –Total of $NZ 264,000 for Enabling immediate response to disasters. Tsunami Evacuation Road Signs fully installed for all Islands Red Cross Emergency Management Shelter and Administration in full operation Pukapuka Island Cyclone Management Centre (CMC) Completed Manihiki Island CMC Upgrade completed Ministry focal point and Community Disaster Coordinators on-going training on SOPs
