Status of NSF IRNC-2 Solicitation Release date uncertain [soon…1-2 weeks?] 3 aspects to IRNC-2 –Production Networks ($5M/yr for 5 yr) –Experimental Networks ($2-3M total onetime) –Special Projects ($1M total onetime) Program Officer Jennifer Schopf with assistance from William Chang Hopefully, Experimental Networks and Special Projects will be refunded 2-3 years out.

America Recovery and Renewal Act (ARRA) a.k.a Stimulus DOE to build 100G network (about $60M one-time) NSF budget increased by 50% ($3B one-time) US broadband infrastructure to increase (NTIA $7B one-time) Much one-time funding but agencies are hopeful that some increases may become permanent.
