WHAT IS Polyrhythm ? several different rhythm patterns going on at the same time

Rhythmic Values A whole note equals 4 beats. A half note equals 2 beats. A quarter note equals 1 beat. An eighth note equals 1/2 of a beat. A sixteenth note equals 1/4 of a beat. A dot adds half of the original note's value. The top number of the time signature tells us how many beats are in a measure. The bottom number of the time signature tells us what type of note gets the beat.
