Before troubleshooting electrical equipment, look at the schematic of the area you are going to work on. Use a step-by-step approach, checking one component at a time. Be familiar with Layout of plant NOT FAST! BE SURE! 2 possibilities- Ruin More Equipment More importantly – Injury to yourself or others

Regular maintenance keeps equipment producing effectively and extends the life of the equipment. Work Logs- documentation of maintenance histories Cheapest Form? Lubrication Extends life of equipment = $

Most maintenance crews are organized in one of three ways: Central Organization – one person, the general supervisor, is responsible for all. Area Organization – only work in assigned areas. Most specialized Departmental Organization – only work in certain departments. May not be as specialized as an area organization. May be a hierarchy of all three

Maintenance workers must be flexible with their schedules because breakdowns can not be determined in advance. Most work will be in a team or partner setting so coordinating with others is crucial. The challenge is that the daily routine is rarely the same. Ex. 40 hr/week guy at Dakota Tube deburring tube all day.
