2 Perkins:  5,335 students or 21% enrolled in CTE programs of 25,517 total credit students (fall 2014)  37 Perkins-eligible CTE degree and certificate programs  Six Programs funded in FY15 – Total Award $326,698 Computer Gaming & Simulation Network & Wireless Technologies Radiologic Technology Program Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies Program Law Enforcement/Police Science – Criminal Justice Accounting Technician

3 Perkins:  13,964 students enrolled  35 Perkins-eligible CTE programs  Total award FY15 – $1,023,725  Instructional Materials  Wages and Substitutes  Transportation and Travel  Contractual  Fees and Registration

4  Montgomery County Collaboration Board for Career and Technology Education established by Montgomery County Board of Education and Montgomery College Board of Trustees Spring 2004.  MCCB serves as Montgomery County’s Local Advisory Council.  MCCB led by Executive Committee comprised of key stakeholders. MCCB: Our History

5 MCCB: Our Charge  Advise Make recommendations to better align programs with workforce and economic development needs.  Assist Help carry out specific activities such as data review and analysis, provide internships and job placement.  Advocate/Support Promote CTE programs throughout the community.

6 Today’s Meeting Goals by the end of today’s meeting, participants will have:  Received overview of Perkins at MCPS and MC;  Learned role of MCCB as advisory council for CTE in the county;  Heard discussion on two exemplary CTE programs;  Heard about  Secondary - postsecondary collaborations  Industry-supported initiatives  2+2+2 articulation agreements;  Learned role of industry partners in Perkins;  Toured Construction and/or Hospitality Management program facilities.
