2011 Highlights 55 clubs; 380 teams; 748 coaches; 7,676 players played 2,725 games! Girls Play Day – great kick off to season & umpire training End of Season Events 6,720 players, coaches, & spectators, over 3 weekends at Treasure Island = a lot of porta potties ;-) Great food & retail vendors Some exciting weather & no game cancellations

Summer Workshop Opportunity to have a say in policy for next season 55 clubs invited, 26 represented Overview of results: – Season start/end dates – New “NCJLA Certified Coach” Program – Revisited ABC levels, game scheduling, rep meetings – Code of conduct for coaches as well as players & parents – End of Season Schedule and Improvements Consolation games in boys B tournament NIT for U15A Future: One workshop per summer

NCJLA Certified Coaches Recommended by workshop group, and supported by attendees and the board Same requirements as in the past (except addition of signed coaches code of conduct) Now just verifying all requirements are met Submitted with rosters, due by Feb. 12 Coaches must wear lanyards with NCJLA Certified Coach card, at every game

NCJLA Certified Coaches Requirements Background check such as NCSI (Schools require fingerprinting, so would count.) Must renew annually PCA online or in-person workshop, “Double Goal Coach” Completed within three years from the start of the current season US Lacrosse Level 1 online course One-time requirement US Lacrosse membership Must renew annually, and be valid through the end of the season Signed Coaches Code of Conduct (new for 2012 season)

Rosters 2012 Focus on solid rosters before games start Mainly because we need to verify US Lacrosse numbers Working w/LA to allow club sites to easily upload to NCJLA site Due February 12 (really) Second submission OK for late jersey numbers, and additional players trickling in No Roster = No Game (really)

Game Scheduling More accurate standings within division Encourage more teams to play at A Outside division game: up to club to make officials arrangements New for 2012 No games with teams from another division may be entered into NCJLA website Division = gender + age level + competitive level

2012 Travel Teams NorCal Chapter and US Lacrosse are deemphasizing Festival teams representing Chapters NCJLA & NorCal Chapter will only endorse one U15 Boys and one U15 Girls National Championship Travel Team We’ll post and announce tryout dates Beyond that each organization runs the program

Team Scholarship Program Scholarship would award: 90% waiver on team reg fees 50% off officials fees per game Priority to teams: Drawing players from underserved/low-income communities Teams in a brand new club Key dates: Application posted October 1 Due November 1 Notifications 2 nd or 3 rd week of November
