2. Article 26: Universal Declaration of Human Rights Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit. Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace. Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

4. TRUANCY The education is compulsory but there are some students who don’t go to the school. That is called: Truancy. It is bad for three reasons: I. Student will have less skill II. If they don´t go to class, where are they ? III. Students that leave school too early, they will be less succesful finding a job.

6. More than100 million children are out of school Today, in the world, there are nearly one billion illiterate: 860 million adults, two-thirds of them women, and 104 million children are out of school, 57% of these are girls.

7. Africa and Asia The number of children out of school with age to attend primary amounted in 2000 to 104 million. Three-quarters of them live in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and West Asia.

8. Education in Italy. Education in Italy is free and compulsory from 6 to 16 years. It consists of five levels: scuola dell'infanzia, scuola primaria, scuola secondaria di primo grado, scuola secondaria di secondo grado y università.

9. Education in Turkey Primary education is compulsory in Turkey. The education system consists of two stages: Primary (Ilkögretim) of 8-year, Bachelor (Lise) of 3 years duration.

10. Education in Slovenia Preschool isn´t mandatory, then from six years of age attend primary school, which is divided into three periods: Primary School, Secondary School and Upper- Secondary School

11. Education in Slovakia Compulsory education last 9 years: it is from 6 years to 15 years. Is divided into three periods: Primary School, Secondary School and Upper- Secondary School.
