The school year usually goes from mid-September until mid-June and common school holidays are: Christmas holidays, Easter Holidays and summer holidays. 3 NURSERY SCHOOL For children aged 0-3 years, there are Daycare Centres (crèche). In general daycare centres are public or private. Attendance requires a monthly payment depending on the selected timetable and family income. Nursery School is not compulsory. It is attended by children from 3 to 5 years old. In general schools operate from Monday to Friday with flexible timetables. The main educational activities provided are: body and movement, speech and words, space, time and nature, music, physical activity, arts and crafts, etc..

5 PRIMARY SCHOOL Primary School: It is compulsory and it is attended by children from 6 to 10 years old. It lasts five years. The curriculum includes: Italian, English, Geography, History, maths, science, technology, music, art, physical education and Catholic religion (optional for children of different religions).

7 LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL Lower Secondary Schoolt is compulsory and it is attended by children from 11 to 13 years old. It lasts three years. The curriculum includes: Italian, English, an alternate foreign language, history, geography, science, math, technology, art, music, physical education and religion (optional for children of different religions). Students must pass an exam before moving up to Higher Secondary School.

9 HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL on to the University.on to the University. Higher Secondary School is compulsory until 16 years old. It lasts 5 years. There are several types of schools according to the curricula proposed. The main division is between “Liceo” (Classical, Scientific, Fine Arts, ecc…) “Technical Schools” and “Vocational Schools”. At the end of the Higher Secondary School, students must pass another exam in order to receive their “Diploma di Maturità”. Then, they can begin their careers in their professions or move

10 UNIVERSITY University: Entry tests are compulsory in most faculties. After three years, students get a Bachelor's Degree.They have to attend two more years to get a Master's degree

11 Our school In 2000 our school becomes “Istituto Comprensivo” and hosts students from the three orders of school: Nursery Primary Lower secondary school. Our present hedmaster is Dott.ssa Roberta Guzzardi.
