Think Creatively Can we enhance the report to remove downstream processing and formatting? Can we consolidate/standardize reports and use prompts & filters to provide flexibility of use and prevent report proliferation? 8 Report Req. Questions How is the data/information in the request used today (reconciliation, monitoring, decision-making, external reporting)? Who is making decisions based on this information and what decisions are being made? Is the information consumed as is out of Discoverer or is there further manipulation, summarization, aggregation, cleansing, grouping, and/or data joins done outside of Discoverer (in Excel or elsewhere)? Are there multiple versions/flavors of this “report” used across Grounds? If so, what causes the variation? Filters, aggregation and grouping levels, timing, etc. Is this information used for External Reporting of any type (Federal, State, Sponsor, Accrediting Body, BOV, etc.)? Which of the following items have been considered to utilize the capabilities of the new reporting environment: Standardization (to reduce multiple versions) by incorporating additional filters and parameters (user-based session variables, row filtering, column filtering, presentation options at run-time) Aggregation and drill-down paths Visualizations (charts, graphs, etc.) Exception reporting and alerts to automate monitoring processes Jun-24-15 Fiscal Admin Mtg 8
