Academic Opportunity for Improvement Students are expected to receive a “C” or better on tests, major assessments, and projects. Students are given an opportunity to redo/revise work on tests, major assessments, or projects where their score is below 70% Students will receive an “Academic Opportunity for Improvement form”, choose two methods/actions on the form to complete, & return to teacher Students are allowed one “redo” per assessment/test/project Student will receive the higher of the two scores, but the final grade cannot exceed a 70%

Florida Writes+ Students in 4 th, 8 th and 10 th grades will take the essay portion of the FCAT. Writing practice is done once per nine weeks. Writing (like all FCAT testing) will be done in a testing class to help familiarize students with their testing environment.

Science FCAT Students will be tested on science concepts. The scores will be monitored and students’ progress will be tracked.

Special Events: End-of-Year Money Picnic and Promotion Cost TBA –Includes: Picnic food, activities, etc. Promotion T-shirt, promotion photographer and CD, certificate and program.

Special Events: 8 th Grade Field Trip End of year field trip – Sally Andersen –Date: Wednesday, May 23 th –Cost: Approx. $110 ($85 tickets and bus, $25 spending) –Behavior guidelines All field trips: Academic Guidelines

Field Trip:Behavioral Guidelines Behavioral Guidelines: Students may participate if they receive no Class 2b or Class 3 referrals, or no more than one Class 1 referral in the semester the trip is occurring.

Field Trip: Academic Guidelines Academic Guidelines: Students may participate if they have a year cumulative 2.0 GPA as of the third nine-weeks report card and have earned the necessary quality points for promotion at the time of the trip.
