Author: Roald Dahl Illustrated by: Quentin Blake

The book my Literature Circle group read was Matilda. The author is Roald Dahl, and Quentin Blake is the illustrator. It is a fantasy book. The main character, Matilda, has absent- minded parents who think Matilda is worthless. Really, she is very intelligent and bright. Matilda started going to school with an extremely cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Luckily, she has a very considerate teacher, Miss Honey. In Crumchem Hall Elementary School, Matilda gets accused for something when she was innocent. She’s so furious that she has the power to move things with her mind. She uses her amazing brain powers to help many people, including Miss Honey. Hanako

Text to Self Connections – I can relate the book to my life because Matilda is very adventurous like me. Text to Text Connections – I can relate this book to another book called Witch Catcher, because there’s a girl whose friend has magic powers just like Matilda. Text to World Connections – I can relate this book to the world because there are a lot of food eating contests. In Matilda a boy named Bruce Bogtrotter ate an 18 inch cake. Madison
