3 ICD10 Cont. –System Implementation – Reference; June 2013 –Initial Reference Table Loads; June 2013 –First ICD10 Reference Table Extracts available to Contractors; July or August 2013 –Internal Testing Begins – All other Systems; October 2013 –External Testing Begins; January 2014 –System Implementation – All other Systems; September 2014 PMMIS Freeze Ends.....

4 ICD10 Cont. –External Testing Ends No earlier than September 2014 –ICD10 Effective Date October 1 2014 (Professional and Outpatient dates of service; Inpatient dates of discharge)

5 ICD10 Cont. AHCCCS Project Approach –“Native” processing (ICD9 codes distinct from ICD10 codes) including review and remediation of impacted policies and processes –Use of GEMS as a points for reference/validation only –Distinct Reference tables within PMMIS to house ICD10 diagnosis and procedures as well as related information –Policy review and remediation for “intent” of policy –Support beta, early Trading Partner and end to end testing whenever feasible

6 ICD10 Cont. Contractor Milestone Reporting to begin in April or May Contractors will be provided with and will be required to successfully execute a defined set of test scenarios

Current Activities and Next Steps –Complete final review and validation of System Impacts –Finalize Documentation, Policy and Process impacts –Continue review and remediation of above impacts –Conduct Internal Training –Complete and maintain detailed project planning –Inventory and create a Library of published GEMS and other related ICD10 documentation

8 ICD10 Cont. –Establish parameters for and initiate Contractor milestone reporting –Finalize Systems requirements decisions –Finalize design and implement of ICD10 coding tables in PMMIS –Develop ICD10 Communication Plan for all touch points –Develop ICD10 Testing Standards for all Trading Partners –Enhance and maintain the ICD10 Project Webpage –Develop ICD10 Testing Scenarios for Contractors
