3. Eradicating extreme poverty and hunger consistentlyPoverty has consistently decreased since 1996, after the 1994-1995 crisis that produced 15 million people on extreme poverty. Some of the causes are the following: Low inflation rate and a positive impact on real salaries as well as citizens purchasing power. Fiscal discipline has produced a credit market especially for consumption and housing. Increases on income and improvement on capacities of population in poverty.

México has innovative environment targets such as –Taxes for environment rights that provide protection to the environment and at the same time support citizens living in rural areas. –Natural areas protected to preserve original fauna and flora. –Environmental information systems and inventories. –However, environmental deterioration accumulated for years has not reversed the loss of environmental resources.
