Attendance ◦ >4 absences = NC each semester ◦ must be here to learn and not get behind in this hands-on class ◦ Makeup work is due before the next class meeting (student & parent/guardian are responsible for this), or you will be behind ◦ Attend tutoring with me the day you return to school, see posted grades & lessons Classroom Policies and Procedures ◦ Get supplies needed for the day ◦ Participate in daily mindfulness or respect those who are by maintaining a noise level zero during those few minutes ◦ Submit work to class tray provided or in proper folder ◦ Participate 100% and more ◦ Be responsible for hardware, including cables, mice, troubleshooting... ◦ Respect each other’s personal space ◦ Allow the teacher to teach and all students to learn 8/22/14 F. Class Rules ◦ Follow all Lanier & AISD Policies: Dress Code, Tardy Policy, Computer Use, etc. (violation of policies, vandalism, or inappropriate use of computers will result in revocation of computer privileges) ◦ Cell phones… must not be visible & must be powered OFF (not vibrate…)* ◦ MP3 players, personal headphones/earphones, etc. are not allowed* ◦ DVDs, flash drives, etc. may not enter, nor leave the lab* ◦ The internet may not be used for personal nor recreational use ◦ No downloading of any kind ◦ No gum, candy, food, drinks, personal grooming* ◦ Respect each other, no profanity, etc. ◦ Stay in your seat, unless the teacher gives you permission to rise ◦ Hall passes – will be used responsibly, abuse will result in loss of privilege * Violation will result in confiscation 8/22/14 F. Grade Deductions Errors = Content or Application Cheating = Zero for any and every student involved in cheating Late work: ◦ 3 calendar school days allowed by Lanier ◦ 80 will be the highest grade for perfect late work ◦ Deductions for errors are taken from the 80. ◦ Zero will be the grade, if not submitted within 3 calendar school days of original due date ◦ Must be completed during tutoring, with the teacher 8/22/14 F. Tutoring & Makeup Work Tutoring, makeup/late work hours will be: Tuesday-Friday, from 8:30-8:55 a.m. If I have a morning meeting, tutoring will be offered from 4:30-5:00 that afternoon. Students needing help should attend tutoring within 2 calendar school days of not understanding and must attend before the start of a major project. Once a project is assigned, tutoring on the related skills & concepts will not be provided. If the student misses class for any reason, it is the student’s immediate responsibility to make work up before the next class at 8:30 am with the teacher. Otherwise, you will be behind. Make-up work: one calendar school day for each day missed to make up work for full credit (no deductions)--after that, it becomes late work (80 max, 3 days). Any allowed makeup or late work must be in by the last Wednesday of the 6 weeks, regardless. No extensions. 8/22/14 F. Trimiño9 Business Information Management

Shutdown Procedures Save your work !!! Properly exit all programs to the desktop Log off at the desktop, when instructed, at the 2-minute warning by the teacher (not early) Clean up your station/Recycle (no basketball) Turn in work, put work in interactive notebook, in order Return notebooks/books, when instructed, in the last 2 minutes of class Push chairs in, stay away from door area until bell rings Carefully walk between computer rows, avoid cables, keep classroom door closed until bell rings 8/22/14 F. Equipment Care Properly exit software Use only the software programs assigned No downloading nor file sharing or copying of any kind No gum, candy, food, drinks, personal grooming Carefully walk between computer rows, avoid cables, take care of furniture Be responsible with hardware, including PC, cables, mice, keyboard, monitor, headphones, DVD drive, USB Ports… See teacher for Adding/Finding printer paper Save every 5 to 10 minutes! 8/22/14 F.
