Not too technical and appealing  Better communicate the value of coordinating and improving data systems and services.

WGISS chair report 14 April, 2014 9 How to improve WGISS  When necessary, increase interaction with VCs – with Ad Hoc team ??  Coordinate/collaborate/connect more closely with SEO  Characterize users, and which work will interest which users.  Decision Makers, Agency Data System, science end-users.  some are interested in users, other on systems or data  Share opensource code.  Save money to any agency  allow any organization [WGs (eg CapD), VCs, agencies] to re-use for their own needs  Work with users and contribute to develop user-request-oriented system/data  Recovery Observatory  Repository of available software / systems

WGISS chair report 14 April, 2014 10 CWIC/FedEO/Opensearch  CWIC and FedEO  are now openseach compliant  can both be connected to an opensearch endpoint server  CWIC OpenSearch Best Practices  Major parts will be put into the CEOS OpenSearch Best Practices wherever possible  When a new development is to be done, opensearch is more appropriate than via CSW (ISO or ebRIM)  Easier to implement  More performance  Opensearch  1st document : OGC-10-032r6 OpenSearchGeoTemporal  is an OGC standard  2nd document : OGC-13-026r2 OpenSearch Extension for Earth Observation Products  will start the standardization process on June
