4 What is Perimeter & Area? Perimeter: is the length of the outside of a shape Area: is the amount of space inside a shape

5 How to Measure Perimeter with Regular Shapes To measure perimeter with regular shapes there are steps. A regular shape is a shape like a square, rectangle etc. First step: look at the length of the sides of the shape. Second step: add all the sides together to get the answer.

6 How to Measure Area with regular shapes There are steps to measure area with regular shapes just like perimeter. First step: look at the length of two sides of the shape. Second step: Multiply the two numbers to get the answer.

7 How to measure Perimeter in irregular shapes An irregular shape is any random shape. There are steps to measure perimeter with irregular shapes too. First step: look CAREFULLY at the length of each side. Second step: add them all together to get the answer.

8 How to Measure Area with irregular shapes To measure area with irregular shapes it is a little hard. There are more steps in measuring area with irregular shapes. First step: Divide the shape into regular shapes. Second step: look at the length of two sides of one shape and multiply it. Third step: Do the same thing.
