Facts -Thomson was born in 1856 and died in 1940. -Thomson attended Owens college and Trinity college. -At Trinity college, Thomson was Lecturer in 1883 and Master in 1918. -In Thomsons lifetime he was awarded Second Wrangler and Second Smith’s Prize and the Nobel Prize in 1906. -Joseph John Thomson is known for discovering the electron. -Thomson was also known for his lectures and encouragement toward his students.
