Multi-homing If multi-homing becomes a common option of corporate customers, then what happening is that the function of providing resiliency within a network has shift from a value- added role within the network to that of customer responsibility. And if customers are not prepared to pay for highly robust network services from any single ISP then there is little economic incentive for any single ISP to spend additional money to engineer robustness within their service. From that perspective, what ISP industry appears to be heading into is a case of a somewhat disturbing self-fulfilling prophesy of minimalist network engineer with no margin for error. http://www.isoc.org/issues/003

Policy Issues [Source : e-mail’s between APNIC – ISOC-ID] Confederation Membership is suspended, but the role of these previous members are not suspended. NIR Membership and Charter are not well established however, NIR in several countries are officially established by APNIC. Un-clear/similar definition of LIR and ISP. Which ISP Definition ? By RFC References or by ISP License from each Government that we have to put into policy documents of APNIC [ The policy request for ISP Licenses from Indonesia’s Government by sending its copy to APNIC ] Under which policy is it mentioned ? Are other members/countries treated the same way by APNIC?

OTHER ISSUE Proposal NEW Regional Internet Registry [RIR] for Asia Region. Background ICANN ICP-2 : Criteria for Establishment of New Regional Internet Registry [RIR] http://www.iana.org/icp/icp-2.htm Why ISOC-ID Propose This Issue ? In consideration of RFC 1951 and other related RFCs; the process of adding new RIRs (and therefore new hostmasters) should be proposed by ASIAN Internet Societies to IETF (ISOC). Similary with LATINIC for Latin America countries and AFRINIC for African countries.

CONCLUSION ISOC-ID is a neutral body that serves & facilitates public demand on Information Internet Facilities. International participation on membership, contribution, and establishment of the Information Infrastructure affordability, dynamical, stability and reach ability to the people. The Internet Society has strongly supported IDNIC Program as the best hope a nongovernmental approach to Internet governance. The future of IDNIC depends on its ability to develop international support for its programs and to build a stable financial base. The sometimes conflicting interests of governments, of the operators of the country code top-level domains, and of various nongovernmental parties cannot be resolved without serious attention to a variety of public policy issues. These include questions about the primacy of public interest versus commercial interests, the continuing role of the Internet Society, and the continuing conflict between the needs of trademark owners and the interests of Internet users in expanding the domain name space. ISOC-ID will support public policy such as Access, Censorship, Children and the internet, Copyright, Digital divide, Domain Name Systems, E-Commerce, Encryption, Privacy, Security, Societal, Spamming, Woman and the internet, and others public policy. Internet is for Everyone
