The purpose of history as a subject: to contribute to the development of students as independent and responsible people to develop the ability of critical thinking to encourage a positive effect on the society and environment

History in our schools chronological structure of history teaching classification on general and national history modern history teaching is based on social and cultural content more than on the content of political history teaching methods which are used in studying history

Objectives of teaching history selecting relevant historical contents to encourage students to expolre, to analyse historical events, facts, information and people in a critical way and to develop their sense of objectivity

to teach students mutual tolerance and respect for other cultures and nations

Tasks of teaching history students learn about major events to practice orientation in space and time to learn through different interpretations of the past (documentary films, museum exhibitions, Internet, documents, historical books,...)

Teaching methods: verbal presentation conversation explaining narration reporting reading and working on the text writing

Teaching aids photos maps drawings models documentary and feature films historical books encyclopedias

Curriculum in elementary schools from fifth to eighth grade students in our school learn history from the ancient history to the 21st century to explain the development of human society and human actions, the teaching content is divided in teaching units
