9. Main project purpose To establish an international cooperation between two secondary schools from culturally and geographically different European regions – north of Norway and central Slovakia. To teach and learn pupils how to accept and appreciate their own and other cultures with their respective natural backgrounds and share them and protect them for future generations. 9

10. Main educational fields Natural richness of the regions, methods of its preservation and presentation to foreign visitors. Diverse cultural heritage of the regions with special focus on folk traditions, methods of its preservation and presentation to foreign visitors. 10

Regional aspect 2 regions are involved in the project: Karasjok in Finnmark region – in the north of Norway Detva in Banská Bystrica region – in the central part of Slovakia On general background knowledge about both countries we trace characteristics of both regions and find similarities and differences between them and mutual benefits that can arise from them. 16
