PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOCUS STUDENT GOAL SETTING Teacher training on implementation of student goal setting. I Can Statements posted for all Core subjects Students set weekly goals in areas such as fluency rate, math fact acquisition, mastery of reading comprehension strands, and behavior. Goals are celebrated. COOPERATIVE GROUP STRUCTURES Teacher training on cooperative strategies. Formal and informal observation feedback regarding students engaged with each other while learning. Spark ABC training

Post-assessment Highlights Student Goal Setting from observations appears to be down to (20%) but evidence of goals is present in displays and artifacts. Cooperative Learning has increased to observed 50% of the time. The lower yield strategy of Engages in Oral Turn Taking (50% down to 35%) indicates more group responses. Increases were also noted in Engages in Reading.

Next Steps This Year Share data with staff at faculty meeting. Teachers set goals for implementation of engagement strategies for the next 6 weeks. Teachers share goal setting and cooperative learning strategies that they have found most effective in PLC meetings.

Professional Development 2015-2016 Book study over summer with Visible Learning for Teachers Teachers use Bessie Blog to respond to questions related to the book study during the summer. Implement deeper work with engagement strategies determined by SIT in May 2015. Peer observations and continued use of SCS walk- through form
