Domain and Functions The domain of a function is the set of all inputs for which the function is defined as a real number The domain of a function can be written using inequalities or interval notation – When using more than one interval, use the union symbol (U) to join them

Common domain restrictions The following are types of functions that typically have restrictions in the domain: – Rational functions – Even root functions – Logarithmic functions – Trigonometric functions (sec, csc, tan, cot)
