2014 National Training NT 1410
2
A Market Place outreach is simply taking a normal FGBMFI outreach to the Market Place. It is a strategic outreach that is adapted to suit a specific environment.
3
The market place is a place of social and economic activities. It is anywhere outside the walls of a Church
4
The harvest is plenteous and the laborers are few and we need high yield fishing techniques—Mt 9:37 It leads to Growth in membership It creates Opportunities for New Chapters It’s a smart move: “Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don’t miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity.’Col 4:5 (Mssg)
5
Strategic: Allows your chapter seize every available opportunity to reach the lost 2Tim 4:2 Col 4:5 (Mssg) Simplicity – Simple to use Business like- Not Churchy Adaptability: Can be your regular chapter outreach or a part of a project for your chapter, area, zone, district, region or convention.
6
Effective: Very effective in attracting first-timers and in salvation Cost Effective – cheaper than a traditional ou Saves manpower- A couple can organize an MPO treach Suitable & effective in training on the Fishing Chapter Model
7
A successful MPO begins with a VISION So, share the FGBMFI vision of dead men coming back to life – with minimum effort & maximum result Share Testimonies of successful MPOs Share the MPO Advantage Energize the men: Tell them to be part of an exciting project
8
Identify a Project Driver – an FGBMFI man with passion for evangelism PRAY & Raise Volunteers; divide them into groups, each group with a head. Identify possible MPO locations & negotiate cost of meals Extend invitations in a professional manner 1-3 days before the meeting, embark on a VOICE WALK around the location
9
Anywhere with good human traffic & where food and drinks can be served Parks and Gardens Joints – pepper soup, isewu etc Restaurants/Fast Food / Eateries Hotels Strategic Points (GSM Village, Mechanic Village, Football Fields, Gym…)
10
Be businesslike in your presentations and discussions Be very informal. Don ǯ t be too rigid Approach owner of a potential location with a business, not a religious, mind frame. Tell them Ǯ We will like to have lunch with about 20-30 Businessmen between 12.30 pm and 1.30pm in your restaurant. Do you have the capacity to take us? ǯ
11
You can also say, Dz We have a convention of business men and we are having 300 mini lunch meetings for over 20 people. We have come to inspect your restaurant if it would meet our requirements. dz Do not say Our Fellowship will want to have a programin your restaurant. dz
12
If you give an impression of a formal meeting, the owners might insist you pay for the venue Get a feel of the menu list and pricing before you commence negotiation. Negotiate on cost of meal per head Speak with the attitude that we are bringing good business to the facility
13
Combine formal (Invitation cards) and informal (Word of Mouth). Cards must be attractive & words persuasive Use words like: We have a Businessmen ’ s Convention and we will be having lunch with other businessmen at MAMA CASS Restaurant for 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Will you want to join us? dz Use data base of names to be submitted by Chapter members (Thisneeds monitoring) Voice Walk around the venue few days to the meeting Follow up invitation with text messages. Bulk text reminders programmedat several times before the meeting has always provedeffective.

It is not using ‘Food ‘to entice people who may not have the capacity to be part of the Vision. It is not going to a restaurant and offer ‘Free Food’ to anybody around. This could be part of it but the essential guest list must have been invited prior to the meeting using invitation techniques earlier mentioned. It is not an every body invite list. We must still target people that will fit into the Vision of your Chapter.
