2  The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice operates 26 secured campuses and 92 court services offices.  Of the 26 secured campuses, 7 are YDC (Youth Development Campuses) and 19 are RYDC (Regional Youth Development Campuses)  631 youth = YDC, Female=34, Male=597  784 youth = RYDC, Female=84, Male=700  1,415 youth incarcerated (3/30/15)  1,314 are enrolled in school (3/30/15)  1,029 AA, 48 Hispanic/Latino, 217 White, 12 Asian- American, 8 Mixed Race  Juvenile Justice Reform – Lower number incarcerated

8  CTAE (Career, Technical & Agricultural Education) ◦ Georgia Preparatory Academy partners with four technical schools to offer CTAE classes ◦ South GA Tech, Central GA Tech, Augusta Tech, and Oconee Fall Line Tech ◦ Courses offered are: Cosmetology, Collision Repair, Automotive Maintenance, Computer Applications, Horticulture, and Construction ◦ Students are dually enrolled and can receive a Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) ◦ Representative from TCSG comes on campus

9  School Counselors ◦ Assist with College Applications (Four Year, Technical) ◦ Administration of SAT and ACT (Spring 2014) ◦ Coordinate Career Fair – Spring Semester ◦ Career Centers – each YDC – Career Counselors ◦ Academic Advisement ◦ DJJ offers financial assistance with college application fees, SAT/ACT costs, transcript request costs ◦ FAFSA (Federal Student Financial Aid) – Start the process, include parental involvement
