What is cardiovascular disease (CVD)? › A disease that affects the heart or blood vessels What are the 2 types of CVD? › Hypertension › Atherosclerosis

What is a tumor? › An abnormal mass of tissue that has no natural role in the body › 2 types: Benign: non-cancerous; grows slowly without spreading Malignant: cancerous; spreads to other organs and parts of the body

Also known as carcinoma Symptoms = changes on the skin, a mole or freckle that changes, or a sore that won’t heal Can be detected by a physical exam and removed by a biopsy
