The Outsiders: Comparison (option 1) Please turn in an essay of at least 250 words comparing the novel and the movie (Due Monday, 3/16): 1)Do you think this movie is a good adaptation of the original novel? Why or why not? Please give a topic sentence, “I think the movie is a good/bad/marvelous/terrible… (adj.) adaptation of the original novel.” Then in the first paragraph, talk about things that both in the novel and in the movie that you think the movie did a good/bad job. In the second paragraph, please write about things that ONLY appear in the movie which you think the movie did a good/bad job. In the third paragraph, do a conclusion and give your last comments. (You can have more than 3 paragraph, but you must include these 3 aspects)

(please choose only one position) Please give a topic sentence, “I would recommend people who are interested in The Outsiders to read the novel/watch the movie first.” Then in the first paragraph, explain the benefits of reading the novel/watching the movie first. In the second paragraph, explain the drawbacks of watching the movies/reading the novel first. In the third paragraph, do a conclusion and give your last comments. (You can have more than 3 paragraph, but you must include these 3 aspects)

The Outsiders: Analysis (option 3) Please turn in an essay of at least 250 words (for those who cannot finish the movie. Due Monday, 3/16): 3)Would you recommend others to read the novel? Why? Please give a topic sentence, “I would/would not recommend people to read The Outsiders.” You need to have at least 3 paragraphs, and you need to discuss at least 2 aspects of this novel with details from the following list: Character building Plot development/Conflict Setting Use of point of view Themes/Symbols
