The one-up home run rule will be used Simply stated, one team may not have more then a “one” home run advantage over their opponent. Home team cannot go 1 up in the final inning This could be different depending on the league you are doing A commitment line will be placed half way between 3rd and home. Once a runner crosses that line they are “committed” to run home and may not go back to third. A safety scoring plate will be set up 8 feet from the home plate. Offense must touch the safety plate and defense must play on the home plate. All plays at home will be a force play. New game balls are provide by Salt Lake County. However, teams are required to bring used balls in good condition for back up. Uniforms will consist of similar colored shirts or shirts of a different color IF they all have the same team name or logo on them. Uniforms must have at least a 6-inch number on the back in a contrasting color. Special Rules to Salt Lake County

Assignments are made by the time of day, not the start time and ending times of games. Need to be at the site 15 minutes prior to your start time Understand tournament rules Get organized for your assignments If you are the last one on the diamond for the day your ending time will be when your game is over and not a set time. If you cannot fill an assignment turn back to arbiter (This could jeopardize what tournaments you get in the future) Most tournaments are at the two complexes, which means: Running a scoreboard Using a microphone Leaving your working area clean even if it means wiping off your counter top Do not leave until your replacement has arrived. 17
You will be given contact information for your co- workers. We ask that you do not give this information out to anyone. If a coach needs to get hold of their score keeper they can go to Quick Scores and their league page to get their scorekeeper contact information. Only give out the main number of the sports office to get hold of Staci. Do not give her cell phone # to players! Site supervisor numbers should not be given out to anyone. Employee Phone Numbers
18
If you are not satisfied with the answers you are getting from your site supervisor, or how the league is set up you may email Staci Hemingway with your concerns or give her a phone call and schedule an appointment to meet with her one on one. Staci is generally in the office between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
