Mass Movements 14 Landslides A rapid movement of a large mass of earth and rocks down a hill or a mountainside.
15
Mass Movements 15 Mudflow Movement of soil resembles fluid behavior. Water, air and ice are often involved in enabling fluid like motion of the material.
16
Mass Movements 16 Creeps Slow movements of soil or rock directed by gravity gradually down slope. The creep makes trees and shrubs curve, and they can trigger landslides if they lose their root footing.
17
Mass Movements 17 Slump A slipping of rock material along the curved surface of a decline. (shaped like a spoon) It forms a small, crescent-shaped cliff.
