2 How ITCC Committed to a New Remediation Model  ATD membership changed college’s approach to data – uncovered high repeat, failure, and withdrawal rates  Statewide remediation assistant vice president hired to lead change  CCA grant awarded to Indiana used to run 5-6 pilots designed by faculty  Co-req emerged as best practice and became first board- supported college best practice Page 2

3 Our Model Math  Remedial content and delivery varies with the math pathway  Two new models – co-requisite with gateway course aligned with gateway math & co-requisite with technology class  Former math remediation required up to 10 credit hours – reduced to 3 credit hours and a single semester Writing  Co-requisite with ENGL 111 Page 2

Self study options will be made available for any student who wishes to prepare and retest without enrolling in a course. Fall 2016 Target Enrollment: 100% of writing enrollment. Time lapse: 1 semester
