A is a Monocytes: Notice how much larger they are than the red cells A B What is each arrow pointing to? A is a Neutrophil B is an Eosinophil A A
4
A is a neutrophil B is a Lymphocyte Notice that the small lymphocyte is about the same size as the RBC. A is a Neutrophils B is a Lymphocyte In this lower power view, notice how few white cells there are in this field of reds. A B A A B

A is a Basophil, purple-black, often large coarse irregularly sized granule A A is an Erythrocycte A

Blood Pressure What is a normal blood pressure reading? What does the top number represent? What does the bottom number represent? Hg is what? Which is better: artery pressure or vein pressure? 120/80 Diastolic Systolic Mercury Artery pressure
7
How do you take a blood pressure reading? Inflate the cuff with brisk squeezes of the bulb. You shouldn't need to go over 150. You will be listening for a slight "blrrpp" or a something that sounds like "prrpshh." The first time you hear this sound, note what the reading was on the pressure gage. This value represents the systolic blood pressure The sounds should continue and become louder in intensity. Note the pressure reading when you hear the sound for the last time. This value represents the diastolic blood pressure. Afterwards, open the air valve completely to release any remaining pressure.

Blood Typing Type A blood contains __antigens. Type B blood contains __ antigens. Type A blood contains antibody __. Type B blood contains antibody __. Persons with blood type__ are often called universal recipients. Persons with blood type __ are often called universal donors. The Rh blood group was named after the If red blood cells lack Rh antigens, the blood is called Rh antibodies form only in persons with type blood in response to special stimulation. An Rh-negative woman, who is carrying an fetus, is given an injection of RhoGAM to prevent erythroblastosis fetalis. Reese monkey negative Rh positive A B B A AB O
