2 Introductions please include pictures of all team members Individual pictures or a team picture Introduce Team members –Name –School, Fair, Government/district position, Intel –Role For Administrators, Fair Directors or representatives from the Ministry of Education, please list title and main duties For teachers, please list subject and grade For Intel, list position

3 Educational Environment Provide one slide explaining your Education System (please keep this brief and simple) –If you represent a country How large is the school system – number and types of schools How many teachers How many students –If you represent a school district How many school districts in your state or country How large is the school district – numbers and types of schools How may teachers How many students If desired, you may include a map to show where you are from

4 Educational Environment One Brief statement (less than 30 words) of your Educational System (ie Centralized, Test Driven curriculum etc.) One Brief statement (less than 30 words) of math and science requirements – what grade levels require science and math classes; –Graduation or Completion requirements? – University entrance requirements?

5 Science Fairs What is the status of Science Fairs in your area? –Existing: Please complete if your district or country has participated in Intel ISEF How many science fairs are held? How is the community or government involved? How many students entered this year, (2008-2009 academic year)? –New: Please complete if you’re just beginning to have science fairs) What is the interest? When is your first Fair?

6 Science Fairs What are the three biggest obstacles you face? (Below are Sample Topics; please identify and summarize only three areas). –Organization and management: Is there district/community/government support? –Quality of projects: Do projects involve research and experimentation? –Quantity of participants: Are you competing with other programs? –Do teaching practices support project based learning?
