2 Nature Of the Work You would provide technical assistance and support to customers and other users on the network. They do this especially in organizations that use computers as the main tool to work with their customers or to do their jobs.

3 Working Conditions Computer Support Specialists work in a variety of environments, including small businesses, government organizations, and large corporations. You may end up working in anything ranging from a cubicle to an office.

4 Training and Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required for many network and computer systems administrator positions. If not Certification and Experience are usually required for both of these Positions

5 Advancement When an employee starts they will usually work with an organization that deals with their customers directly or with in-home users. Based on Performance the Employee may be promoted to a higher position or manage even more of the Organizations network.

6 Employment Outlook Due to the expansion of the worlds computer technology companies make other companies more sophisticated software. Since the Horizon is continuing to expand more and more Computers Support Specialists and Systems Administrators are needed to help companies use their new systems to the maximum efficiency.

7 Earnings Median annual earnings of wage-and- salary computer support specialists were $41,470 in May 2006 while the lowest 10 percent earned less than $25,290, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $68,540. Median annual earnings of wage-and-salary network and computer systems administrators were $62,130 in May 2006 while the lowest 10 percent earned less than $38,610, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $97,080.
