2. Magnetism is the attractive or repulsive force found between two objects, most often made of Fe or S. Magnetite is a naturally occurring mineral that has magnetic properties. Every magnet has two poles – a north and a south. Like poles repel and unlike poles attract. The area through which this attractive or repulsive Force is observed is called a magnetic field. The earth, which produces a strong electric current within the hot liquid outer core, produces an electric field which we call the north pole.
