Issues and Challenges Tribals are not turning up for work and so also General mass in coastal areas. Awareness has not trickled down to potential beneficiaries Action still limited to small pockets Atmosphere of collaboration is not there Limited synergy among civil society Media mobilization needed People are lethargic and not doing the work Line Department not doing MGNREGA works so encouragingly… No visible projects… NO CONVERGENCE………

Convergence between MGNREGA & SGSY/NRLM SGSY – SHGs – basis for the social mobilization of poor SHGs can influence the PRIs to prepare area based development plan including MGNREGA works SHGs can be involved in the planning of works at household level on SC and ST land The SHGs and their Federation – involved in the distribution of MGNREGA Job Cards and ensure issuance of MGNREGA Job Cards to very poor households SHGs – be involved in the supervision of works under MGNREGA Assets created under MGNREGA can be used for further value addition by providing loan under SGSY
