1 Carbon Footprint

2 What's a carbon footprint ?
A measure of the amount of carbon dioxide produced by a person, organization, or location at a given time .

3 Reducing Carbon Footprints
*Turn off the lights *Don’t purchase bottled water *Eat less meat *Take shorter showers *Don’t fly first-class *Drive less. *Use reusable bags when shopping

4

5 Food Has A Carbon Footprint?
*Food systems produce carbon emissions due to use of fossil fuels *Food Carbon Footprint is part of the total carbon footprint of an individual, organization, and/or country * Food choices are changing globally and impacting total carbon footprints

6 What Makes Your Carbon Footprint Grow?
*Air travel accounts for about 3.5 percent of the human contribution to global warming. *Washing your clothing and textiles makes up 14.5 percent of your Carbon Footprint. *The food and drinks that you choose everyday make up 5 percent of your Carbon Footprint *Driving your car to and from everyday makes up for 15 percent.

7 How Plants Help *By planting a tree you can help reduce your own carbon footprint. It helps because the tree takes some of the CO2 out of the air and makes it into oxygen. *Plants can also help by being used to make “bio-fuel”.

8 Bio-Fuel *They take that matter and create fuel out of it.
*Bio-Fuel is made by any earth matter like trees, plants, dirt, or mulch. *They take that matter and create fuel out of it. *That fuel could help us eliminate our uses of oil/gas. *It helps us get rid of most of the gases that are produced.

9 Carbon Footprints Hurting The Earth
*The environment is getting damaged by all the green house gases. *All of our actions are continuing to hurt the earth and all the creatures living on it. *These animals are loosing there homes from our Carbon Footprint.
