The IPMC is a research center of the Department of Plant Protection in Northern R&D Aims · Development and advancement of methods and measures to improve pest control in deciduous orchards to assist growers. · Development of control programs using reduced poison levels in keeping with the consumer’s demands for more “friendly” agricultural produce. Research Projects under-way: D evelopment of means and methods for monitoring and controlling the key pests – Codling Moth, Pear Psylla, Fruit Fly, Parlatoria oleae. S uggestions for solution to establish integrated pest control for the long-term. I mporting and acclimatization of natural enemies. D evelopment of integrated control methods in Stonefruit. L ow-Volume Application to control pests.

Research Activities Data gathering and keeping up with existing information on topics connected with plant protection. Development of updated control recommendation for the growers.

Support Activities S creening of new chimical products under controlled conditions. F ollow up on the resistance of pests to control substances. Chacking of Pesticide Residues. Regional Support network M eteorological and Phenological warninigs. W arning for time spraying of pest whose control necessitates regional co-operation.
