NATOPS IC 4 22.4.7 Mandatory Callouts Current as of February 2010
2
Learning Objectives Mandatory Callouts : –22.4.4: CRM improves mission effectiveness by limiting the threat of an error committed by an aircrew member. CRM is a behavioral strategy designed as an error countermeasure employed to avoid error, to trap error, and mitigate the consequences of error. Effective and timely communication is the keystone of the seven basic behaviors of CRM. Deliberated and expected verbal communication is necessary for error mitigation. Pilots shall be thoroughly familiar with callouts for both pilot flying and pilot monitoring.
3
Learning Objectives Aural/Visual Annunciators: –22.4.6: Anytime an aural or visual annunciator is triggered a minimum of a verbal acknowledgement is required by the Pilot Flying in order to communicate to the crew that the annunciator has been heard and understood. As the severity of the warnings increase so should the amount of the description the Pilot Flying uses to inform the crew of his or her intentions. If a corrective action is required acknowledgement only is not sufficient and the proper NATOPS procedure shall be performed.
