8 Enhancing the Security of Electronic Submissions Government-wide initiative to enhance security of electronic submissions: EPA promulgated the Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Rule EPA promulgated the Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Rule Ensures that EPA and electronic reporters had a trusted relationship to prevent submittal/revision of data from unauthorized sources Ensures that EPA and electronic reporters had a trusted relationship to prevent submittal/revision of data from unauthorized sources New EPA systems required to conform with CROMERR New EPA systems required to conform with CROMERRTRI-MEweb

9 How Are We Compliant? TRI-MEweb will require all Certifying Officials (CO) to obtain a Central Data Exchange (CDX) username and password and provide a signed Electronic Signature Agreement (ESA) prior to electronically signing the submission. Facilities need to plan ahead as the process is estimated to take a minimum of 5 business days to become active to certify forms. However, if CO changes, they must register with CDX and provide an ESA prior to electronically signing the submission. TRI-MEweb will notify the user if a CO has not been designated
