The naming part of a sentence tells us… Who? What?

Remember We learned about action parts of a sentence. The action part of a sentence is made of the words that tell what a person or thing does.

Remember A verb is a word that shows action.

Remember An action word or verb is something you can do.

Did you know? Do not add –s to a verb that tells what two or more people, animals, or things do now.

Example Colin and Alicia go to college. Go is the action verb.

Example Rick and Cheryl like Piglet.
Like is the action verb in the sentence.

Example Grady and Toto watch the game. Watch is the action verb.

Let’s Practice Circle the verb that shows more than one.
1. Carl and Jan (move, moves) to a new house. 2. They (sees, see) Annie. 3. Jim and Annie (bring, brings) a gift. 4. They (talks, talk) to Carl and Jan. 5. Carl and Jan (like, likes) their new neighbors.
