The tomb is the largest ever found in northern Greece, a resting place monumental enough for royalty. Some people think Alexander the Great was buried here, yet archeologists are still not sure. A little later in the discovery they found large marble columns sculpted in the shape of women with outstretched arms—that may have been intended to bar intruders from entering the tomb's main room.
