Czolgosz believed that killing the President of the U.S. would give him positive press of this movement and send fear through other leaders providing them a warning. How: Czolgosz approached President McKinley in a greeters’ line with a handkerchief bandaged on his right hand…under the handkerchief was the gun. He shot the President twice. Leon Czolgosz
