Getting started Get the students logged into their computers and direct them to http://parcc.pearson.com/ http://parcc.pearson.com/ Direct them to the TESTNAV 8 Tutorial Take them through the Tutorial step by step, giving them time to practice

Key Points Screen #4: DO NOT attempt to “esc,” open another program or leave the testing program while in session. This will end the entire test. Screen #6: Not all tools will be available for each section or each person Screen #7: “Review” is a good tool for moving back and forth in each section/Unit of the test. You can “flag” a question and come back to it later and see which questions you haven’t answered Screen #8: Remind students that they may still review previous questions, but if they select “continue” that will end that section of the test. Screen #9: Only “submit my final answers” when all sections/units are complete (last day of testing)! Screen #11: Not all tools are available for every section or every student Color Contrast and Answer Masking are only available for students that are pre-identified Multiple Choice and Multiple Item select is denoted through either a circle or a square in the answers.

Sample Items are available for both ELA & Math by grade band. Generic rubrics for ELA are also available by grade band.

Practice Tests are available in both ELA & Math. ELA Practice PBAs for grades 3- 11 are currently available. Sample EOYs should be available in January 2015. Math Practice EOYs for grades 3- 11 are currently available. Sample PBAs should be available in January 2015.

Classroom Expectations TestNav 8 Tutorial This lesson will be provided to all students grades 7-11 students in Social Studies class Note: Answer Masking & Color Contrast are not available during test. These are pre-identified accessibility features. Sample Items & Practice Tests The Practice Tests will be assigned in Math & English class. Additional Sample Items may be reviewed in class or assigned for independent review. Equation Editor Tutorial & Calculator Math teachers will provide information and practice in class, as well as assign for independent review. Rubrics English teachers will provide copies to students and discuss in class.
