Science All curriculum is aligned with the California state standards which can be found in the front of the textbook “Life Science” and are also aligned with “Language Arts” standards. Topics covered include: Light, Cells, Plants, and Genetics Projects: Egg experiment, Science Fair Project, Genetics Lab, Plant Growth Lab

English All curriculum is aligned with the California state standards which can be found in the front of the textbook “Language Arts”. Three novels in focus: “House on Mango Street”, “Holes”, and “Where the Red Fern Grows” Projects: Technology based literacy curriculum i.e. digital comic strips, digitized autobiographies.

Homework Recorded in agenda daily Mon-Thurs. written homework Friday-projects, studying (vocabulary study cards) NO LATE assignments Students must make up work when absent 30 minutes of homework and/or studying daily

Grades Progress reports are issued every 5 weeks All class assignments are given a number value Cooperation and work habits are based on student participation, behavior, the ability to follow directions, and having all supplies daily 90-100=A,80-89=B, 70-79=C, 70-79=C, 60-69=D, 60-69=D, 50 and below = Fail
