13 FITNESS – is defined as a condition in which an individual has enough energy to avoid fatigue and enjoy life.

14 COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS
Skill-related fitness enhances one’s performance in athletic or sports events. Health-related fitness is the ability to become and stay physically healthy

15 HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS
Cardiovascular fitness Muscular endurance Muscular strength Flexibility Body composition

16 CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS
is the ability of the heart (cardio) and circulatory system (vascular) to supply oxygen to muscles for an extended period of time.

17 MUSCULAR ENDURANCE refers to the ability of the muscle to work over an extended period of time without fatigue. Performing push-ups and sit-ups or crunches for one minute is commonly used in fitness testing of muscular endurance.

18 MUSCULAR STRENGTH refers to the maximum amount of force a muscle can exert against an opposing force. Fitness testing usually consists of a one-time maximum lift using weights (bench press, leg press, etc.).

19 FLEXIBILITY is the ability to move a body part through a full range of motion (ROM) at a joint. The sit-and-reach is commonly used to determine flexibility.

20 BODY COMPOSITION is the ratio of body fat to lean body mass (including water, bones, muscles, and connective tissues). Having too much fat tissues is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis.

21 In addition to improving quality of life, health-related fitness
  increases muscle tone and strength; decreases susceptibility to injuries and illness; improves bone mineral density;

22 reduces risk of osteoporosis;
improves posture; increases efficiency of the respiratory and circulatory systems;

23 decreases risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke;
improves blood pressure; decreases risk of diabetes and some cancers;

24 improves self-esteem and self-confidence;
decreases body fat and improves metabolism; and increases energy level and academic achievement.

25 SKILL-RELATED FITNESS
Agility Balance Power Speed Coordination Reaction Time

26 Agility the ability of the body to change direction quickly
refers to the ability to change your entire body position in space rapidly with accuracy and speed

27 Balance the ability to maintain an upright posture while still or moving ability to maintain equilibrium, or control your body's position in space.

28 Power the ability to do strength work at an explosive pace
the ability to combine strength with speed while moving.

29 Speed the ability to move quickly from one point to another in a straight line

30 Coordination the ability of body parts to work together when you perform an activity. Integration with hand and/or foot movements with the input of the senses

31 Reaction time refers to the time it takes for the neuromuscular system to produce movement from stimulus to reaction. amount of time it takes to get moving.
